Following the latest uproar relating to the amount of food provided in school food parcels, our catering learners wanted to explore this topic further.
Here are their findings:
"Richmond group have been looking at nutritional lunches in response to the recent social media outcry to meal hampers provided by catering company Chartwells to children who are supported under the free school meals programme.
We have looked at the food/ingredients provided in the food hampers and have come up with meals that can be produced from those ingredients – we felt as a group that we had enough food to make up nutritional lunches for a whole week apart from a filling for the jacket potato on Friday."
If you're struggling to create meals out of the food you have been provided, you can do some online research, get creative or contact your school for ideas.
