Green Corridor held its first clean up event on 26 June 2014. A small number of volunteers from Lloyds as well as our own young people helped us to clear over 200 bags (1.2 tonnes) of rubbish from our allotment site in Southall. In all there were around 18 people involved.
This part of the clean up was to start tackling the accumulated rubbish on site – bagging and rebagging – and removing it to clear more space for the next stage of development of the allotment site.
Our next date will be in late August and this will be the main activity. We will inform neighbours of our plans to repair fences along the alleyway and to install a new gate. At the same time, we will see whether they want to help with any of the clean-up activity.
