For the third time this year we had the privilege of working alongside a group of seven eager volunteers from Holiday Inn.

On 30th September 2015 this small but intrepid band of volunteers got to grips with more ground clearance so that two of our hand made compost heaps could be relocated to a better area within the grounds of our GC L&D Centre, Nr Heathrow Terminal 5.

As you will see from the photos this not only involved clearing an area that had been completely overrun with brambles and nettles but also removing two very heavy metal fence poles that were situated bang in the middle of where we were planning to place the compost heaps and someone had certainly made sure when putting in these poles that they were never going to move!!

Alongside this the there was an awful lot of garden rubbish that needed to be removed from the compost heaps as it just wasn’t going to be suitable to make into compost.

Anyway this team worked like Trojans and successfully managed to complete the task, and, in addition, they placed some wood edging in the flowerbed in front of the bungalow and finally ended the day by planting out some spring bulbs.

Here are some of their comments they gave us in their feedback forms.

“Brilliant day thank you”

“Thank you for a great day”

“I thoroughly enjoyed the day and would love to return”

“So much fun! Always brings great teamwork opportunities. Thanks”

As always it was a delight to work alongside such enthusiastic volunteers and we are very grateful for all your hard work and support.
