Our Horticultural courses are designed for Young People who have struggled within mainstream education, but who want to achieve and get into the world of work.

All groups are kept small with 6 young people to 1 tutor, this allows for a higher level of support, as standard, so that young people can have their voice heard and do not feel excluded.

The referral process is simple, just give us a ring to arrange a meeting with you and the young person, then we talk through what we do and how and arrange a taster session.

There are a number of access routes onto a Green Corridor course and young people can join us at any point throughout the year, stepping on to a program appropriate to their needs. Learning is based around what the young person wants to achieve and where they want to end up, so we build the Individualised Learning Plans around them.

Young People Within Education or Training (including 14 -16)

Young People under 16 must be resisted at a DoE approved school to complete their English and Maths qualifications and can come to Green Corridor for a maximum of 3 days per week to add to their timetable. Costings are set on an individual basis depending on the number of days a week, number of qualifications and the level of support needed.

Young People Outside of Education or Training (16 – 25)

Young people over 16 can attend a Green Corridor program from 2 – 4 days per week. Individualised Learning Plans and timetables are built around what the young person wants to do, this means that they do not have to be registered to do Functional Skills if they do not want to.

Funding for our courses is sought through the Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP), if you do not have an EHCP please contact the team as we may be able to support you to do this.

If you have any questions or would like to arrange an initial visit to Green Corridor, please contact Jo (Youth Manager): Joanne@greencorridor.org.uk or ring the main office on 01753 687236.
