From Green Corridor to Positive Onward Destinations

We run an in-depth and supportive careers programme to ensure our learners are best prepared to progress onto a positive onward destination. Our Offer

Our Careers Team ensure that all of our learners have access to information, advice and guidance around their career choices and future goals.

These goals are not just centred on securing employment, but also focus on:

  • Independent Living

  • Having friends, relationships and being part of society

  • Being Healthy

  • Preparing for and finding employment.

Activities such as one to one meetings, careers workshops, attending careers events and also learning about careers within the curriculum help us to prepare our learners for the future.

Gatsby Benchmarking

Green Corridor is fully committed to embedding the Gatsby Benchmark for good careers guidance as follows:

  • A stable Careers Programme – embedded in the curriculum.

  • Addressing the needs of each student – tailored to the individual

  • Linking Curriculum Learning to Careers – embedding equality and diversity

  • Encounters with Employers & Employees – to learn about the skills that are valued in the workplace.

  • Experience of workplace – through visits, shadowing, or work experience

  • Encounters with further and higher education – to include information about colleges courses

  • Supported Internships and Apprenticeships

  • Personal Guidance – to include one to one interviews and personalised recommendations.

Parents and Carers

At Green College we recognise the important role of parents, guardians and carers  in helping our learner’s transition onwards from College. The need for clear, concise, and impartial information on the choices available has never been so important.

Success Stories

A few stories of our learners who have moved into a positive onward destination

Ryan

After finishing our Catering program and completing his Level 1 Certificate in progression, Ryan got a great job installing air-conditioning units around London.

He now travels independently to job sites, using the skills he learnt with us, showcasing his strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability.

Though Ryan's path changed, he was able to apply his training and experience to a new career in HVAC. We're proud of his success and we wish him well in the future.

Careerometer

Careerometer can be used to explore and compare key information about occupations, help you learn about different occupations and identify potential careers.

It provides access to a selection of UK headline data relating to pay, weekly hours of work and future employment prospects for different occupations, as well as description of the occupation.
Simply type in the title of the job you are interested in and the widget provides a series of options from which you can select the most relevant to you. You can then look up another two occupations and compare. You can also select ‘display the UK average’ and compare the information with the occupation you have selected.

"Green Corridor and Princes Trust Uxbridge College were able to collaborate successfully to secure a place for the opportunity for a young person to take part in a programme. Mandeep was able to support the process of the application through phone calls and online applications with her young person, as well as being supportive of the client needs and circumstances. We managed a successful partnership now he is currently working towards a qualification and to further his work experiences."
