Vocational
Programme
Our Vocational Programme offers employability qualifications from Entry Level 3 to Level 2 for learners aged 19-25. This practical programme prepares learners for meaningful employment and independent living through three core pathways, all incorporating the Skills Builder soft skills training.
Programme Areas:
Horticulture Pathway
Expert tutors provide hands-on experience working with on-site vegetable and flower beds. Learners develop practical skills in plant cultivation, garden maintenance, seasonal growing cycles, and tool safety.
Catering and Hospitality Pathway
Comprehensive training in food preparation, cooking techniques, nutrition, budgeting, food safety, and customer service skills.
Personal Employability Pathway
Broad-based training across but not inclusive to hairdressing, hospitality, horticulture, and retail sectors, building core transferable workplace skills.
Teaching Approach
All programmes are delivered in small groups by industry-trained tutors. Each learner follows an individual programme tailored to their specific needs, interests, and destinations.
Assessment and Progress
Assessment combines practical skills evaluation, portfolio development, workplace skills observation, and regular individual progress reviews. Progress is continuously monitored to ensure each learner achieves their individual targets and qualifications.
Outcomes and Destinations
The programme prepares learners for:
-
Direct Employment in horticulture, catering, hospitality, and retail sectors
-
Supported Internships with ongoing support
-
Further Education and specialist training
-
Independent Living Skills development
Our comprehensive approach ensures every learner leaves with recognised qualifications, practical skills, and confidence to succeed in their chosen pathway.
Learner Stories

Saad's Journey
This is now Saad's second academic year at Green Corridor, successfully completing his entry level qualification in Practical Horticulture Skills last year. This year, Saad has worked very hard and has been a great asset to the Horticulture work experience team, helping to renovate some of the patient gardens at St. Peter’s hospital. He has made great progress with his functional skills in maths and English and is very keen to keep learning.
Saad will be continuing his Employability Skills qualification next year, moving from a Horticulture focus this year, to a Catering focus as he looks to increase and diversify his skills towards his chosen pathway.
