Personal Employability Pathway

Home Cooking: Welcome

Green Corridor is excited to announce the introduction of a new course starting in September 2024, aimed at enhancing general employability skills. This course is tailored for learners who possess an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) and are uncertain about their career direction. It will provide an overview of various employment pathways, possibly including but not limited to:

  • Construction trades such as bricklaying, plastering, or painting and decorating.

  • Retail roles within supermarkets or DIY stores.

  • Hairdressing, beauty therapy, or barbering.

  • Hospitality industry, including hotel work.

  • Manufacturing and site maintenance.

  • Catering services.

  • Horticulture.

The course is designed to be flexible, allowing learners to explore different career options and ultimately make informed decisions about their future. It will incorporate elements such as:

  • Work experience opportunities.

  • Guest talks from professionals or individuals with relevant experience.

  • Modules on customer service and other essential employability skills.

  • Guidance on filling out application forms and mastering interview techniques.

  • Understanding the qualities of an effective employee.

Initially structured as a two-year program, the course offers the possibility of condensing into a one-year duration if the learner identifies a specific career pathway within the first year. We believe this course will empower learners to make confident and well-informed choices about their professional journey.
