Our First Ever Alumni Event - A Special Trip Down Memory Lane

This week, we hosted our very first Green Corridor Alumni Event - and what a wonderful evening it was.

The event brought together former learners and staff for an evening filled with laughter, memories and plenty of catching up. It was incredibly special to welcome back so many familiar faces and hear all about what our ex learners have been up to since leaving Green Corridor.

One of the most touching parts of the evening was seeing how much the event meant to people. Some learners travelled over three hours just to come back and spend time with us, which meant so much to the team. The atmosphere throughout the evening was warm, relaxed and full of genuine connection.

As we sat together reminiscing, it was amazing to hear about the different journeys our learners are now on. One former learner shared that they are currently in the process of starting their own business, which was incredibly exciting to hear. Others spoke about their growing independence and confidence since leaving Green Corridor, and how their experiences here helped shape who they are today.

There were also plenty of moments that made us smile. Some learners laughed as they talked about how their time at Green Corridor changed their relationship with food - explaining that they are now willing to try all sorts of foods instead of “just sticking to beige”! It was lovely to hear how small steps taken during their time with us have continued to make a difference in everyday life.

Friendships were another huge talking point throughout the evening. Many of our ex learners shared that they have stayed in touch with friends they made at Green Corridor, with some still regularly meeting up and supporting one another years later. Hearing this was a real reminder of how important the connections made here can be.

We also loved hearing how many learners spoke positively about their experiences here, with some even saying they would love to work at Green Corridor in the future. Knowing that people look back on their time here with such fondness is something we are incredibly proud of.

The evening was a wonderful reminder that although learners may leave Green Corridor, the memories, friendships, confidence and experiences they gain here stay with them long after they move on.
